 Ok friends, I need help!

I am in college now and am at that point where I need to set a career goal and consequently pick a major :(

Here is my delima:

1) I can be a vet tec and maybe (probably not) become a vet. I love animals and would work with a large animal vet (ie live stock and horses). I would love this job and could see myself happy with this career. The only problem is that this job could not support my other love which is over seas missions work with the church.

2) I could stay with liberal Arts major and continue on to law school and be a lawyer. (Barrister for my "over the pond" peeps :D )I've always wanted to be one but the only way to make $ as a lawyer is either as a law suit attorney (the kind of every one hates) or do something like real estate law (BORING!!).
But I could spend lots of time doing missions and help lots of needy people.

I need help. I'm gonna worry myself sick if I don't decide soon.
Thanks ya'll

All I'm gonna say is a very infamous quote that has helped me in a lot of career decisions.
"I would rather work at a job I love and get paid minimum wage than to work at a boring job I hate and be a millionaire."

Not exactly your situation, but which do you love more? Helping animals or helping people?

You could do your missions for a few years and then be a large animal vet....that way you can all the things you love...but i agree with the last post....will you be happy being a lawyer if you love helping people and animals? And there are not enough people that love animals enough to be an overworked, tired vet.LOL But what a career! Good luck!

Well currently im training to become a vet nurse (or a vet tech) this means you can do all the taining to be a vet nurse and then go on to specialise after (e.g. horses) this takes 2 years the how ever long the specialising takes after... this does not mean u become a vet... you may as well go straight to university if u have the qualiforcations!

If you have any questions about becoming as veterinsry nurse just pm me... i would be happy to help :D

Im at college right now actaully... ment to be having a study hour lol!

You could double major, in law and animal sciences, and then you can be an animal lawyer... or whatever comes arround. its like a special cases lawyer. it could give you what you want. and, then, you could at least be started on the whole vet tech thig, and ither way you go, you'll have a back up plan! I just had to recently decide what i was going to major in, and the double major is whta im going for. Or you could major and minor, like im going to major in buisiness, and minor in ag. and animal sciences.

Be sure and let me kenow what happens!
