I'm basiclly training my pony for jumping and I have a few pictures, I was working on giving him his head (he cannot be held back -- lol) and so thats why my reins are loopy. I didn't want to snag him in the mouth even though my reins are terrible!
Shelby is 5.
The jumps are very small because we didn't want to get the standards from the other ring, LOL. And a pylon and stool had to do -- haha.
What do you think? (Be nice, hehe)

He just needs to even out his knees.. which working with him more like you're doing will probably fix that.. other than that he's adorable, lol :D

Same thing as above, he needs to be more square(where his legs are at same height over jump) and i think you need to stay back a little bit more because your kinda on his neck! BUT THEY ARE REALLY GREAT PICTURES AND HORSE PONY IS JUST PLAIN ADORABLE! :)

He's a cutie. Once he gets more comfortable jumping crossrails, why don't you try some low gymastics with him? They'd give him confidence, keep him interstead, round him out and even and tighten his legs.

I wouldn't worry about his knees over a crosspole...I don't know many horses that will have square knees over them, haha. Once the jumps get higher the knees will come. :D

Thanks guys, I shall tell him the complements once his ego is downsized ;) .
Hehe -- I agree with what you've all said, I appreciate it! He's very lazy on these tiny little jumps, ya know? So it's hard to get him to try, same in my position I guess too .. LOL!
Thanks=).

Really cute, as other people have said yes he isnt really using himself there. but I think when he gets more broke to the jumps and you get to work on more exercised he will learn to use his back and then his knees will get tighter. :D good luck with him he is a cutie! :D

Actually I've found that if you make a gi-normous crosspole (ends on the highest hole on the standards) so that the center is very narrow....it forces the horse to jump up and use it's back correctly and tends to make them square up their knees.
The gymnastics will help as well.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about his knees being uneven over a crossrail, I haven't seen any horses really use themselves much over such a small jump. Cute horse though, and your position is good as well.

He's really cute. :) The only thing I would say to do is try him in a martingale because he looks like he's throwing his head up a bit. Good luck with him.
