View Full Version : Worst show morning, EVER!
So i got up around 5 am this morning to help my little sister get her horse ready for her first show of the season. We get him ready, get him on the trailer, along with two other horses other people at our barn were showing, and head out. I was about 15 minutes ahead of the trailer because the horse i was planning on showing was already there and waiting for me.
I was going about 72 in a 55 on a back road, and what do ya know! The only cop the neighboring town has pulls me over.
And i got stuck with a $80 ticket, was REALLY late for the show and only got to do one class.
What kinda crap is that. I think Equestrians should be exempt from "speed limits" on the way to horse shows.
Icky cops.
Anyone else ever have a similar incident?

we get pulled over only for a check that he hadnt seen a bloody car that wasnt taxed!
he kept us their for 33 mins and by the time we got their it was the break and i had to go pick up my tack as i forgot to put it in the truck!
we get stuck in traffic then we got stopped by the same cop!

Damn... what a bummer... what happened about the class you needed to get to in the end?
I had something similar happen me... well sort of... I work at a vets and we do home visits... I was out on visits with the vet on this particular day and we had loads of visits to do and the vet was already in a bad mood... but he is an ace guy normually! We had about to visits left to do but we was abit behind... he normally drives fast neways (90 on a dual carriage once... in a vet van haha, not a speed ment to be reached in a pants van that was bust sitting in the garage the week before) but we was only goin at 40mph and was about 1/2 a mile to where you can go at national speed limit (60mph) we was in a 30 area...
Then all of a sudden I see a cop in the middle of the road waving us over to the bus stop... ended up with a £60 fine and 3points added on to his licence...oh what a happy bunny he was!
But what annoyed me most was how patranising the cop was... grrrrr... i hate that cop... dont they have anything better to do, eh?
There is more detail to that story... but we could be here a while... and the key on my laptop actually feel like they are cookin... uh oh! :p
Well, at least im not alone. Makes me feel a little better.
I didn't do well in my open gelding halter class. I've never messed with Booker before though, so i wasn't too terribly upset. In the color halter class, we made it to the top ten out of 29. So I was pretty happy all in all.
I can't wait to start showing Indy. I would've taken him today, but since he had his chiro. appointment yesterday, I can't ride him for 2 days. And we were out of trailer space anyway.
