So I just took my final exams for my Equine Massage class last night and I am proud to say that I passed all 5 the first time. Overall I got a 96% when all 5 test scores are added together. I was very pleased but now comes the fun part. Much like the aromatherapy, I have to do 6 clinicals by the first week of June. I have all of my clinicals set up now I just have to go through with them. I did a little practice massage on a mare out at the training facility I work at and it was ridiculous how tight she was. I plan to use her for 2 of my clinicals just to see if she makes any progress from this or not. She is known to be stiff in her hind end and always sore in her hips so I plan to focus more in those areas. I am going to give her a massage tomorrow so wish me luck. I am curious to see the difference between working on a horse who is always massaged versus working on a horse who probably has never had a massage. I want to see how many "trouble" spots I come across. I will keep you posted! :D
