I am going to France for 10 days with my band and dont know what i should do with my horse. If i leave him for 10 days he will be crazy by the time i get back. Should i ask one of my friends to ride him for me? He is still in training in somethings and i dont want him to forget the things i have taught him. My friend is a really good rider and will probably do the same things i am doing with him now but i still am not sure of what to do. thanks

If you trust your friend, ask her to ride him for you if she can, then explain why. :) Have fun in France, I'm so jealous!!!

I would suggest you having your friend ride him if you trust your friend with your horse. Or, if you don't feel comfortable with that, have your friend groom and lunge your horse so he is still getting worked, but won't be learning anything new/bad habits.
I'm going away in a few months for a week and my friend is going to take my horse out and ride her for me because I have my friend ride my horse sometimes so I am able to trust that she rides my mare correctly. Maybe before you leave, have your friend ride your horse and you can teach her/him what s/he should do with your horse.

I suggest talking to your friend and telling her your problem and you aren't comfortable with the way she would ride your horse tell her how you ride and ask if she thinks she could adjust herself to riding your horse for an hour a few days out of that week. If not, ask your trainer or riding instructor(if you have one) to do it for you. And if all your horse needs is exercise, and you don't want your friend or trainer to ride it, maybe just have it lunged a few times during the week so it gets at least some exercise.

Unless you are completely comfortable with your friend riding your horse, I wouldn't let them ride him. Just have them lunge him a couple days a week.

before you go to france i would have your friend come over and watch her ride you horse to see if she can handle him, if she cant then just have her lunge him. have fun in France!!
