Well I just moved Regal to the barn he's at two weeks ago. But it's just not working out :( SOoooooo... I'm moving him again on Wednesday. This new place isn't as nice, but I honestly think it will be a better, safer place for him and me- so we'll see. Wish us luck!

If this barn doesn't workout I'M moving. Seriously.

Big Gripes:

1. No turnout ( )
2. No one around (to know if something were to happen to him during the day- or if something were to happen to me while working him)
and 3. The guy promised to keep his arena worked up but I don't think he's worked it all summer.

Call me prissy but I just can't work without half-decent footing. I ride dressage, and it's just not reasonable to ask your horse for good movement when you don't provide them good footing.

The farm itself is nicer, but those things are all kind of non-negotiables. This new place isn't very pretty, but has an indoor and outdoor and it's a trainer's so someone will always be around.

Oh..I see why you are moving but DRAMA!! Who cares who pretty it is though, you'd rather have it well run that gorgeous right? (but I know we want both :p ).

Out of curiosity, didn't you look at the barn before you moved him there? And if you did, why did you move him there if there were all of these major issues? Just wondering.

To anwer your question (if I may LindsayAnne)...she had trouble finding barns considering she has to drive long distances to them. It wasn't like her neighborhood. I personally keep finding litte barns in the area I keep Isabel and so maybe she did the same. (right..:D)

Thanks Ladida :p

HHTrump76, yeah, what she said! I boarded at the closest english stable since I got Regal- but the 1hr 20 minute drive three times a week was just killing me. The only options I have here are private farms which all have their drawbacks- unfortunately it comes down to choosing the lesser of two evils rather than a quest to find the "perfect" stable.

An update on the situation- I settled him in at the new farm Wednesday night and went to check up on him and ride this morning. The guy along with his rig and about 6 horses were gone so I guess he had a show he didn't mention.... No one was around and my tack and equipment was all locked up!!! I hem-hawed around for awhile, then figured out a way to break into the tack room ( :D ) got my stuff and tacked up Regal (who has a NEW mysterious scratch on his face. :( ).

There were horses loose in the indoor arena and I really wanted to use the indoor since it was his first ride there and I expected he might challenge me a little. So without touching them (long story) I had to try to get them into the empty stalls along the edge of the area. Was easier than I expected actually (total puppy dogs, they just followed me in) Once I got through all that fuss though I worked him and had a really fantastic ride.
