okay so i think i might have a problem......... im about to buy this five year old mustang who the owner thinks is 15 hands but im only 5'2" and i look kind of big on her ......and i usually wouldnt care but i just wanted to seewhat other people thought........do you think she might get taller-shes 5 yrs old??

Do you have a picture by any chance?

Generally most horses reach their full height by six or seven I believe... so chances are if she grows any more, it would probably only be a hand or two. Mustangs are notoriously short anyway, though.

What would you be planning on doing with her? If you aren't going to be showing, it won't be a big deal, as long as she can handle your weight and you don't think your legs will grow much more anymore.

But like I said, a picture of you on her would help.

im sure she can handle my weight......im sure shes atleast 14 hnds and i dont think im obeese or anything .......just short and stocky hehe.....ill have to wait on the pic till parental unit is home..... he has the camera

Okay. (: Haha I wasn't suggesting you were obese, hehe, I just don't know if you're going to grow anymore and with height, weight increases. I'm a lot taller than I was when I got my horse, and a bit heavier too.

I'm about 4'9 and I ride a my arab thats 14.3 great! I think you might be okay on size wise! ( But I'm NOT an expert ethier!)

thanks... for some reason ive been bothered by this since my grandpa thought it up but everyone ive talked to who saw the pics said he was crazy......mabee he is.. hes in his 70's......Im so jkjkjkjkjk

Uh, are you sure the horse is 15 hands??? If you're only 5'2", then you shouldn't look big on the horse unless he has short legs and a big barrel and high withers....huh...I dunno, cuz I ride a 15.1 horse, and I'm 5'7" and we look perfectly proportioned...hmm....

Haha sweetie, I don't think she'll grow an entire two hands. Maybe you meant inches? ;)



But...yeah, pictures would really help. Also, personally, it seems to me that it's better to look a little small on a horse than bit. :)

If he/she's growth plates are still open he will get taller, you ca have a vet check. Good Luck! My horse is 15.2 hands and I am the same hieght as you. :)
