In your opinion, what is the absolute best saddle for hunter/jumper? Price doesn't matter, I just want to see what you guys say. I'm casually looking for a new saddle, and I'd like to hear what the top names are. ;)

I love, love, LOVE my Bates Caprilli Close Contact. It's gorgeous, and incredibly comfortable for both me and my horse. I feel really balanced and secure. Not to mention it is nice knowing I can change out the gullet to fit any horse I choose to ride in the future. Everyone I know who has ridden in mine or has one themselves has fallen in love. i would buy one again in a heartbeat!

I've seen very good reviews for that saddle - thanks!

Well it depends, because everyone has a different preference, and of course, some saddles just don't fit your horse. For hunter jumper I wouldn't go synthetic, so anything leather. I have an...Amorigo (sp?) or whatever and I really like it. Pessoa's are good as well, and pretty much anything. Just as long as it's comfortable for you and your horse. I'd go to the local tack store or whatever and ask for some of the more popular saddles first.

frederic butets! they really make anyone sit nicely. but it's true, you just have to try a bunch and see what you like best. some other good ones are PJs [Bruno Delagrange or w/e], Antares, and Pessoa.

I'd say Antares by far. They're around $5,000 new but it's worth it. They are sosoooooooo comfy u won't believe it. I would get one of those if I were you.

I love my Pessoa. ^^ It's a great saddle in the 'wear and tear' department, and it's really comfortable. I have a few friends who own Amerigos and they just adore them. I hate riding in any other saddle other than mine, but I rode in my best friend's the other day and just LOVED it. She owns a pony and she says it fit really nice, yet it seems to fit almost all the horses in our barn and we have some really weird shaped ones. lol xD
