Just wondering what could have happened to have a damaged or broken saddle tree.

you won't be able to ride in it ( I would think so)

My guess would be someone ran over it with a truck...

Laying it on its back, or upside down can damage it. Being tossed, dropped, etc. will also harm it.

If I may ask, why are you asking? Is yours damaged? It seems like it would be kind of difficult not to know how it was damaged though (at least if something significant happened).
Well if anyone read the topic "Accident" the same horse broke a saddle tree, he went to bucking and the cinch wasn't on tight yet so the saddle slipped he broke the cinch and stepped on the saddle when it fell (this horse also broke three halters in his three months of training)(he's back there now)

Oh no, my saddle's fine. I was just wondering what to look out for. Not that I'd go driving over a saddle or anything, haha.
