Do you think an Arabain would make a GOOD hunter/jumper? Just thought your ideas and thoughts would help!

Normally, no. They may jump a little, but not very big. They're just not built for it. There may be a rare case, but it's very rare. An Arab cross would work, but Arabs are built for endurance, not jumping.

Well, me and my 14.3 h arab are doing fine... were both schooling jumping and shes doing great! :) the highest I've jumped is about 1 ft and 1/2... and has had NO PROBLEM going over it!

Mmm... we were figuring you meant higher than that. (:

Yeah, I thought you were talking about jumping larger. Like I said, "They may jump a little, but not very big." Almost any horse can jump small jumps like that if they're in good condition, but few can do much higher.

I agree that normally no, Arabs are not good for hunter/jumper, but my friend has an Arab who I've jumped about..3, 3 and a half feet and he clears it by a ton. He's got a lot of speed, and could probably do some lower level jumpers, but I think he's one of those "rare cases".

Haha yeah, probably. But when Arabs do jump, those that can, they really are pretty.
