well she is 5 years old. the owners we r getting her from dont know much about horses and didnt get papers so im checking with the blm. shes not super trained but she goes western and shes a calm sweet girl. im hoping to get more info when i send in her special serial # thing to the blm. i know she loves water! when i road her on trail there was a tiny puddle of water and she started going towards it . the owners werent lying when they told me that. but im hoping to train her all the way mostly by my self and if i get the papers im going to show her next year.

Jeez...hate it when moms act like they own their kids. I'm eighteen, and my mom still goes in my room when I'm not there as if she has all the right in the world.

Annyway, yeah, that sucks. Now I don't get to see new pics of cutie.

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 01:17 PM
Awesome (about your birthday)!

And wow, yes, she is definitely a buckskin if she's Deedee's color because Deedee is a buckskin ("a true buckskin", according to Mrs. Rowling...she even has the black stripe down her back that I guess some wind up being born without).

I love golden horses! =)

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 01:24 PM
ya a lady told me shes definately a buckskin though i dont think she has the black stripe. she has all black legs except one is half white haf black - shes soo pretty.so is deedee by the way. im so glad i have a buckskin(i always dreamed of having one!) but anyway have you boughten a horse yet? you need one! you love horses too much to go through life not having one!

musiccraze777

Yes, she is definitely a buckskin, but I think what mrs. rowling meant by true buckskin is when the color first came, the black stripe was there, but now it's probably more scarce...and paint buckskins most likely (in my theory) would not have the black stripe anyway even if they are buckskin. So the "true" ones just probably resemble that from the past.

I love Deedee a lot. THink of her as the baby of the stables because she's fat and it's so CUTE. And I'm just crazy about that roly poly figure of hers...hehe. I love all the horses, but around Deedee, I kinda feel a little motherly. Hehe. But they are all special to me in their own way.

No, I haven't got a horse yet. Still looking for a job. Lark is mine if I get the money for her before anyone else...but until then, anybody can buy her. So I just browse horses so I won't get upset like I did when someone else was supposed to buy her (they lost interest after they were contacted). I keep seeing her with everybody at the stables...but it may not happen. Still, I'm trying my hardest. I have been contacting people about jobs, trying to see if it fits my requirements (at least minimum wage and forty hours a week...that way I can afford to keep Lark and her baby once I pay for them...and it has to be close enough that I can take a bus).

I will be able to keep Lark at the stables for free (loaning her to them), but when she gives birth, I'll have to move her to a different stables...so I need to save every cent that I'm not spending on horse care if I get her. Then, when her foal is weaned, I'd move her back to Dream Catcher and keep loaning her to them until I get my own place, and when the foal is three or four, I'd move it to Dream Catcher too.

Actually, if it's a boy, I might sell him. Depends on how I feel. But I prefer girls....so it just depends on what happens...but I might get attached anyway due to the fact I've never had a foal before. And I was really attached to Jessy when she was a little kitten (still am, and our bond is strong).

And thanks! I hope everything works with my Larkie poo

how much is she for sale for? i promise i wont take her from you im just wondering.she sounds like a nice horse though

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 01:44 PM
$600. For being in foal. And if I don't get her, I'm going to buy Fancy (under 2 daughters of champions for sale) because her son was gorgeous this year and she is pretty...but I'd rather have lark because I love lark already, and Fancy is beautiful and can have double homozygous babies with the father of her baby, but I don't love her.

(I think she is prettier than Lark, but I fell for Lark already)

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 01:47 PM
oh well if you have a bigger bond with lark then it will be worth it. so did you find any jobs you wre interested in? anything?

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 01:50 PM
Lol, I'm looking for any job. And, yes, I feel that Lark is destined to be mine. She hasn't been sold yet even though many have inquired about her. And not because of the seller but they just lost interest or whatever.

Anyway, I'm just looking for a fool to hire me, hehe. No matter how boring, it will be worth it to make a good home for Larkie poo

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 01:54 PM
you ould try maybe working at a stable-that way you could be arond horses. just throwin that out there. i dont know......when ever iwork i get majorly bored- not much mtivation when my reall job pays me 6.50 an hour.but its better then my old 5.00 hour job.

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 01:59 PM
Lol, lmw in texas is 5.15. Though, yeah, jobs that don't require minimum wage by law can give you less.

Anyway, Dream Catcher stables, like the HSPCA (houston spca) is a nonprofit organization. They don't pay anyone. You can only volunteer (as I do). Though I probably could go to the ones I'll have to board Lark and her foal at when it's nearing time, but I'm not very experienced. Only been doing this since February. And I need a night job what with my senior year approaching.

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 02:01 PM
I mean, I don't think I'm experienced enough to be hired. I know a lot about horses, pretty much, but it's a good thing Mrs. Rowling will be helping if I manage to get a job and horse this year because I don't want to make a stupid mistake (though I doubt I would, seeing how I'm probably what you'd call an amateur or higher now...no horse expert, but definitely no longer a beginner).

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 02:04 PM
ya....i dont think boarding facilities pay muchanyway unless you can train.her minimum wage is 7.50 so technically i am below minimum wage but its cool.....sad part is i finished all the work they needed done and they told me to come back near the end of the month :( which means i have to rely on my birthday to get me what i want/need for my horse :( :( but ya i do hope you get a job for larky's sake

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 02:08 PM
Me too.

And yeah, I honestly feel like there's no way I could find a job in the horse world anyway because if I had a ranch, nobody would be on it but me (and volunteers...with my Robin Hood Ranch thing, any nice people who want to volunteer to train the ones I want to sell as riding horses are welcome to volunteer, but as I want to sell them cheap, I wouldn't pay anyone...).

The way I could make loads of money, as I mentioned before, is my books, but that takes YEARS. So I'll have to settle for any job on the busline (found a dog grooming job but it's in the suburbs of houston, which sucks...would've rocked).

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 02:11 PM
whats wrong with the suburbs?

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 02:13 PM
Well, not sure it's the suburbs, but it's a city a long ways away from my house. I THINK it's bordering houston, but there's probably another city in between...or open, unnamed space. But yeah, it's a looong ways away. My friend once took me there to get shrimp. It took forever. And no bus goes there. So I couldn't get there.

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 02:15 PM
oh...that sucks......whatever it takes though. i wish i could help!

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 02:17 PM
*Smiles* thanks. Two of my friends said if they had the money, they'd buy her for me because they know I need my own horse, but their money is tight (I didn't ask...was just talking about how much I want her).

She is sooo pretty. =) =)

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 02:27 PM
well if i magicly win money or make a bunch of money all the sudden, i would try to help. does larks owner own a ranch? if so- maybe you can work to pay off her fee there? do it in like payments or just working to pay it off- that way the owner cant sell her because you would be working for themto pay it off and if she did sell her you could ask for all the money you earned in return-ive known some people to do that. they didnt necessarily train but it required mucking stalls and grooming- just doing work that needs to be done.

mhoney05
08-04-2007, 02:36 PM
anyway i have to get off and go ride my girl. my dads going to ride her too- hes alittle big but i think honey will be okay ill probably talk later though

musiccraze777
08-04-2007, 02:53 PM
Actually, I don't know her well because I haven't really seen her in real life yet (but I want to go there to see her before I buy her, though I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong enough with her that I will say no to...her disposition is good...the reason I'm really doing this is because I think it'll be cool).

Anyway, I fell in love with her pictures. I know, sounds silly, but I did. I can see the way her ears look in her pictures, and it shows her cute personality. That's why I want her so much...I love her personality...

And she is the perfect age to get started with riding. She's black and pregnant, will have a pretty tobiano baby becausethe father is homozygous for tobiano. He has never had a solid foal. And I love tobianos. Of course, I also want a solid horse, like Lark. She's probably going to be my only solid black that I'll have as long as she's alive. I might get a buckskin one day, but as I really only want one riding horse (and maybe 3-4 pleasure horses, neither broodmares nor riding, just there for me to love and admire), but as I intend to maybe keep a couple of offspring, I think I'll just keep volunteering at the stables even when I get my own place...I do love all of them. And I don't know if I can love any buckskin like I love Deedee. I've seen some online, and honestly, when I saw they didn't have her horseshoe star (as I call it) or exact color, I didn't want them. And the horse probably wouldn't be as fat as she is. Like I said, I LOVE her fatness.

The first buckskin you love will never be replaced. Hehe, in my case anyway. I can never love or admire any buckskin like Deedee.

Oh, and if you look at her tail pic...it's not as good as seeing it in real life, but I think of her tail as an indian tail...it looks like one in my view. I love it, it makes her Deedee, hehe. *smiles*

Golden Beauty. Hehe, who can NOT love gold on a horse?

And also, I love pink tack...and it looks best on black or gold horses in my opinion. It will look good on other colors (none with red though), but I think it looks best on black or gold. =)
