Kmowing you all to be loving horsepeople, and knowing that you are likely not loaded as Paris Hilton, I thought I would share something from the rescue organization I am involved with. Even if you can't help much, ever little bit helps, and this horse's story really touched me. If you'd like to help, just follow the USERL link. If you need more info, contact me. ( imdarkchylde@yahoo.com ) Brightest blessings on all!

Hi Everyone:

This afternoon I'm writing you about something very serious. Poor
Calleo has had such a tough struggle. He has left his son he's
known for 6 years, he's been gelded recently, and adjusting to what
we know as normal horse life has been extremely difficult for him.
Our Foster for Calleo is an experienced horsewoman and he has
rattled her nerves and tested her limits with his behaviour. Calleo
is just not ready to give humans a second chance but we want him to
reach that place in his life where he can.

A trainer we've learned of from another local rescue league has been
recommended for helping Calleo. The trainer understands full well
how dangerous turning Calleo's mentality around can be and has
accepted the challenge. However, the challenge comes at a cost. We
need to raise $600 for Calleo to receive this training. We cannot
normally spend this kind of money on training but for the safety of
volunteers dealing with him - it is ESSENTIAL.

Please help us by responding and pledging to help send Calleo. We
need to raise these funds for him immediately.

Thank you everyone for all you've done to help. Please forward this
on to anyone you think may be able to help us ensure a more peaceful
outlook on life for Calleo.

A update: The rescue society has been blessed, the trainer agreed to work with Calleo FOR FREE! There are hearts out there, and bless yours, crazy4horses! Any and all pledges that anyone would like to honor for this is now going for Rhino, a BAD little pony who is the next one up for professional training. He is beyond the experience of any of the trainers who volunteer with the rescue, but he is rehabilitable, and ready to be adopted if he can be handled.
Thanx again for your help and interest!!

The only update I have had, Rhino is being moved to the barn where I volunteer at, and he is doing well. I sent a link of a trainer looking for bad ponies and horses for a video, but I haven't heard anything on whether or not they checked on it for Rhino...
Tell ya Sunday what he is like! (Sunday is my feed/water/medicate day at the rehab barn for USERL.)
Bright blessings!!

With school and horses and cheer, I haven't the money, but I would if I had. :( Sorry guys, hope the horse gets better.

I'm so glad the trainer was kind enough to take him in free of charge. Good luck!

Yeah, we run across the occasional few that are about the horses, money is a perk, rather than it being the other way around. The funds were redistruibuted to Rhino who, unfortunately for me but not for him, left the rehab barn I was volunteering for to his new home, but the trainer is making farm visits. From what I understand he was a 'difficult' pony.
It is wonderful people that make me believe in the survival of our species....
Bright blessings!!
