If you are having trouble with your horses straightness...ie: they are leaning heavier one direction than another, they feel stiff, or they are having a hard time doing exercises that used to be easy for them, you might consider having some body work done. I am speaking from experience, My horse What's Zat was really struggling down in Indio and I had her worked on, I was amazed by the change in her behavior. She was having a lot of TMJ pain which was taken care of in her body work session, she was like a new horse afterward. ;)

I have to agree! I think that it is important to keep in mind that our show horses are athletes too and get muscle stiffness and soreness.

I found a really good website that explains what TMJ pain is a lot better than I can, so if you want to learn more about it click here (www.stronghealth.com/services/surgical/ENT/tmj.cfm)

I had one of my trail horses gone over by a chiropractor in April. I was amazed at the results. Having him do Baby this fall. :D

I did body work with my horse a few months ago. It worked really well. I also had an animal communicator work on her(I know, it sounds crazy)but it REALLY worked! The woman keyed in on Ali's behavior without ever meeting her(it was done over the phone) It was amazing.

My horse Rocky is still a little sore from the Hood River Classic, so my mom is going to have a massager come out and work on him a couple of times. We had a massager come work on my other horse Blue when she fell in an arena ( the arena was overwatered, and my trainer was riding her in it and Blue ended up slipping and fell on top of my old trainer  ) and she felt so much better after each session. Whenever she saw the lady she would nicker at her.

i'd consider having my horse done when i get some extra cash...i'd like to see if it helps her at all. she feels about the same each direction right now...just a bit stronger on the left, but we all have our stronger sides. so i'll have to wait and see if she needs it. :P (she very well might...she's leaving on august 1st to a new place where she'll be turned out with 3 other bitchy mares!!!)

I know I've heard great results from people who horses had a session with a chiropractor or massagist (right word?), or even, at Pony Finals, an actupunturist! My former pony never had problems, though, and I don't usually have enough extra cash to pay for a session, so I've never personally had a horse of mine done. But it sounds cool.

Let's hear more about the over-the-phone communicator session.
