I, too, have recently been in my first shows ever. It was not only a first for me, but for the horse as well. I think I've mentioned some time back that Sneakers and I were doing 4H this year. Anyways... It was awesome! The very first one was a bit interesting, as she wouldn't stop screaming for her friend and she was a bit jumpy, but she did better than I thought she would under the circumstances. We walked away with two 5ths and a 6th. Then we had the 4H fair just a week and a couple days later. Let me tell you... that horse is amazing. I love her to death. We came out of it as the Walk Trot Western Champions with a 5th, two 2nds, and three 1sts. We recieved a blank (more like I recieved as it's a people blanket) that told of our acheivment. We did so much better htna I thought we would, but not because of her. I knew she would be great, but Iwas scared to death I'd mess things up for her. All went well, though and we even won a couple classes on the fun night. We got second in the "Egg & Spoon" and won at "Muscial Circles" and "Simon Says". Then later my boss used her in the adult fun night and they kicked some serious butt. They beat the pants off of 'em in "Egg & Spoon" and were the best looking half of the two man relay. ;) :p I never knew she could run that fast, but then I've always been too chicken to try it. All in all it was a great experience, even though I did get fried and the weather was terrible our show day. By the last class I was sure I would pass out up there. It was so hot that horses and humans alike didn't want to eat or drink and had some interesting tempers. But we stuck it out and I'm glad we did. :D
