I think canter culture should have a critique thread
when people can critique each others horses!

I think its a good idea as long as noone is really mean or makes fun of someone elses horse. It would be helpful probably.

Some people are harsher critics then others, and there are going to be people with Saddlebreds while others have Quarter Horses, for example. Those are two entirely different breeds and to one person the Saddlebred may be marvelous, while the Quarter Horse is inferior.

I REALLY dont know about that... I can just picture ALOT of girls/boys fighting. Then Tactory ( the addmistrader) will get really mad. And anyway some people might get offened. ( I dont mean to be a party pooper)

I don't think it will work either, but mabye a thread to point out good traits in someones horse (that they noticed and want to point it out for others to see)

since it would be voluntary, people submit pictures only if they want to have their riding or their horse critiqued, so they shouldn't be getting offended if they are posting the photos knowing what they are asking for.

i'm not saying anyone should be rude, either, i'm just saying it could work because people who post a photo for critique should be prepared to hear constructive criticism.

Exactly. If you wanted your horse critiqued, you could post, but you should FULLY understand that your horse isn't perfect, and that some people have different preferences.

Alot of people would still get offended/defensive.

But I know Ringo isn't perfect - I could name tons of things I wish he didn't do or was better at. But I'm sure, if he could talk, he'd have even more about me!!! lol. You gotta love them even with imperfections - thats what makes it interesting.

A good idea, but on the internet, I'm not sure it would work out peacefully.

I no lots of people might not like it but some might and
some other horse forums have it and it is handing and you
learn lots from it but i can see where you are all coming from.
It's just an idea.

not necessarily a critique forum, but maybe like how myspace does it, you can post comments about your horses... I personally haven't seen anyone mean enough to say that her horse is ugly because it has no muscle tone... whenever a person posts a picture on here I almost ALWAYS see someone say that that horse is pretty... I think it's a good idea, it's a way for people to show them what we see that they can improve on... I'M ALL FOR IT!!! :D :D :D

Well, I personally wouldn't 'critique' anyone's horse that hadn't asked me too, and sometimes it is a bad picture, too. I am really lousy at taking pictures, and I have to throw out most of what I snap. But if someone wanted my opinion, after warning them they would get it, I would give it, as I am certainly opinionated. ;)
But I see so many really gorgeous horses, even in the new horses picture, I would be complimenting all day!! There are some seriously beautiful animals owned by you guys!!

With so many posts on the incorrect boards, though, it seems like there needs to be a bit more organization before new boards are created. :)

When the admin was became more active on this site a few months or so back all they threads and sections, etc. were sorted out but they have just gone down the pan again because he hasn't been around! He was meant to choose someone to help out on this site... but he became less active and it sort of faded!
