Horse Owner Essentials!

In your opinion, what are the essential items that every horse owner should have with them? Maybe we can come up with a general list. :)

Here's my list:
-Saddle
-Bridle
-Girth
-Saddle pads/ back pads
-Martingale
-Crop
-Tack trunk/some sort of storage
-Fly Spray
-Bute
-Shampoo
-Horse boots
-Wraps
-Brushes/Grooming supplies
-Treats!

I think I forgot a bunch. :p

Hmmm....It all depends on what discipline you are....But here's my MUSTHAVEORDIE list (if i planned to ride)::

-halter
-lead rope
-saddle
-saddle pad (including extra padding or whatever)
-bridle
-girth
-hoof pick
-curry comb
-mane/tail brush
-body/dandy brush
-some form of hepatane (for minor cuts)
-spray bottle w/ water
-sponge x3
-saddle soap
-some form of riding boots
-helmet
-a rain sheet
-some form of blanket
-buckets x3 or 4 (feed water etc)
-riding pants
-scissors
-my entire vet kit (I have quite a big one lol but i've needed most of the stuff -- but especially VET WRAP)

That's like MINIMAL. And no competition. and probably ending up borrowing alot of stuff. But that's what you should have, absolutely miinimal.

I have a horrible habit of accumulating EVERYTHING to do with horses, and NEVER throwing it out in case I might need it. I have a very full trailer and a very full locker lol.

haha omg i have so much stuff. i can't even list it all. this has probably all been said but this is just what i have and can think of at the moment.

tack, obviously. [mine includes a saddle, girth, home and show bridles, martingale, breastcollar, and draw reins. but all i use on tristan is just a saddle and bridle, lol. my other stuff is from my first horse].
tack box [large one for home, small for shows].
saddle pads. [3 for at home, 2 for show]
polos.
eskadron boots.
shipping wraps [the white ones and the actual wraps].
nylon halter.
leather show halter.
clippers [plus the cooling spray and oil].
extension cords [you never know when you'll need it, haha].
emergency supplies [bute, vet wrap, ointment, disinfectant spray, etc].
fly spray.
show sheen.
spray sunscreen.
hooflex.
tail conditioning spray.
show sheen detangler [works 100x better than cowboy magic, i kid you not].
off [mosquito spray].
grooming supplies [body brush, face brush, hoofpick, comb, tail brush, curry mit].
2 small wash buckets [one for home, one for show - containing several kinds of soap, pantene conditioner for tail, 2 sponges, 3 sweat scrapers].
towels [many towels - for drying the legs to prevent fungus].
cooler.
stable blanket.
thick, puffy winter blanket.
horse treats.
half chaps & paddock boots [and show boots].
2 helmets [home and show].
tack cleaning supplies [lexol and cute, small sponges].
saddle rack for cleaning.
show clothes [2 jackets, 5 shirts, 2 pairs of breeches, gloves, etc].
bags for saddle, bridle, helmet, boots. and the jacket bag [yes, they do match =P].
a sharpie [VERY useful].
scissors [you never know].

everything like our buckets and pitchforks, etc is provided by the barn. so that's nice.

i am sure i have more crap in my tack box, lol. but that's just what immediately comes to mind. i have two of a lot of things because i need one set for home, and one set for my horse show box. so yeah.

13. Flymask - the kind that comes down to the tip of the nose. Our overo wears one often because she gets burned easily.
14. Turn out blanket/sheet.
15.Hay/Grain! They gotta eat. =]
