I was just wondering can you show english with half chaps?

Nope, you have to wear tall boots, or for like short-stirrup and below that you can wear jodpur (sp??) straps.. but only at like B rated shows. and it's not recommended.

I've noticed some ppl on the local circuit wear them and do well...you could probably get away with it @ the Arab show, Taylor, maybe call the show manager and ask?

you might be able to for barn shows or low level, but normally u wear tall boots.

Yeah, tall boots are normally best. But really, it shouldn't matter. If you're a good rider, you can do well in half chaps. And as long as they are nicely cleaned up, and they match your boots, you should be okay. Especially for lower stuff.

Yeah I don't do english I was just wondering because I have seen may people wearing half chaps so I was just wondering. But thanks for all your help! :)

Yes you can!!! My trainer said that you can show in half chaps in open shows. I dont know about A shows...

Even at small C shows in my area you will not catch a single person in half chaps. It's either tall boots or paddocks with jod straps.

No no no - unless it's a small schooling show, you won't catch someone dead in half-chaps. Tall boots and breeches. :)

I know that but I have seen my trainer's daughter wear chaps and she gets the blues! It's not how you look it's how you ride!

how large is the show and how well known is your trainer? was in hunters or eq? what division? how nice is her horse?

Unfortunately, yes it is. But as I said, and others have said, if it's a small show chaps are acceptable.
