Please! I need help from and expierienced horse person! I just had a very frustrating hour with my mini, Smudge, she was a brat, usually she is my little angel and she does EVERYTHING I ask of her, today though, I tried some ground manners and she was a BUTT! The ground excersize I was doing was was me, walking with her at my side, then both at the same time I pulled on the lead rope and stomped my foot, if the horse keeps going, you wait for him to stop, tring as hard as you can to keep your feet planted on the ground, once the horse stops, back him up the number of steps that he walked forward do that over and over and over til all you have to do is stomp your foot and then the horse stops and eventually you can just stop and your horse will stop with you!.... didn't go over so well with Smudge.... :(

ok i might have a little suggestion. get a little riding crop or stick and while walking her maybe keep it in the same hand your holding th lead .keep it in front of her and when you stomp your foot maybe hold the crop in front of her to make her stop .maybe tap her alittle if she keeps going. ive never done this before but it kinda makes sense. just keep it in front of her so when you stop tap it on her chest or sumtin

call it rediculus or stupid but my minis follow direction when a little crop is heading their way.

well, it could be that she didnt understand what u were trying to get her to do, so she got frustrated which got u frustrated. all horses have bad days, like people. work on it with her tomorrow and than keep working on it constantly.
