How did your day go?
I had an excellent ride - once Greystone got going, that was. Unfortunately, that consisted of me being thrown over a fence without him, although luckily I fell over the fence instead of into it, which absolutely kills. I sprung up and chased him down, absolutely pissed. He knew it, and thankfully, went over willingly. :p
Oh, and I got to hack a $150,000 sale horse! It was a dream.
So, how has your horsey day been?

It went excellent up until I experienced a rather nasty fall. My second ever, too. :/
I was riding Cricket, a three year old sorrel Breeding Stock Paint at my barn at the arena and because I was completely unfamiliar with her things didn't go perfect. It took me a bit to get her feel since I am so spoiled with my own horse, seldom do I ride another horse because I'm so used to mine that I don't ask much about the others. Anywho, my saddle was much too big for the youngster and the girth kept becoming loose. She cuts some pretty darned sharp/fast turns and her walk is like my horse's lope, so when the saddle slid I went with it and fell. Luckily, I had enough of a reaction to be able to roll as I smacked into the ground and avoid injuring anything other then my shoulder or back. I'm in a ton of pain even with having taken a hot bath and painkillers. Not once did I get mad at the horse though. In this field you're going to fall sometimes and I know it.
So, I got off and had a more experienced rider hop aboard and see if it was me, the horse, or the saddle. She was making a speedy break for the gate every so often, but I'd just steer her away from it and do figure eights from time to time. As I thought it was the saddle. Having cranial nerve damage I have impaired balance and just couldn't stay aboard. We tightened the girth as much as we could without it being too tight, and I had no more issues the rest of the time. She's a easy going little filly that responds quite well to the most subtle of cues.
Other then that things went just fine with my little mare out in the field, and both arenas. She's coming along quite well and seems to be riding better each day, really.

Mine went actually rather well considering that Gam hasn't been worked in almost 3 weeks.:( Life's just been a bit hectic lately. Anywho, he did well though he needed a bit of a refresher on personal space and standing still. Once that was out of the way we ground worked and lunged with great results. His head's finally grown enough to wear the bridle I bought so I bridled him up and we walked and trotted around his pen for a while. He rode extremely well with the tom thumb bit too. Overall, I enjoyed it.:)

Mine was great except for the outdoor ring was soaked from all the freaking rain we have been getting! But Creek was a really good boy especially since he hasnt been ridden for a week. We rode english by the barn for about 15 minutes than went to the indoor arena and worked on some ground manner and rode him bareback in there for a little bit. Surprisenly his trot is alot smoother in the small indoor arena than in the outdoor. And he was a little messy but he should be all clean now and i hope he stays clean for a while. I got a lesson on the 28th and i am sooo excited for it!!!! :D

Mine was fun, my friend and I hauled 2 horses (both hers) up to a show in GA. Aside from getting a huge bee stinger stuck in my arm, and getting stepped on by a horse (lol), my day was pretty good, it was a lot of fun! :) Unfortunately, though, the horse I was showing went lame between us leaving yesterday and us arriving to the show, so he got to hang out at the trailer all day and eat alfalfa in the shade.lol. It was a blast though, the day was nice and warm but not humid, and there was a breeze.....it was an awesome show day......

tiring
6 am: woke up
7 am: left the house and drove 30 miles to an IHSA show
8 am: recorded warmups for 30 horses, did a pep talk, organized the show list
10 am: left there and drove 20 miles to my own barn
11 am: rode my mare and collected checks for the horses I've schooled (i made like 80 bucks)
3pm: left barn and drove 20 miles home
After that I went home, showered, went to a football game, WaffleHouse, a party, got home, talked to my boyfriend for 30 minutes on the phone, and went to bed.
Yesterday was a 19 hour day

so i had a really good day on sunday and wanted to tell you all about it! I had a lesson at 2:00. And it went so well(except that the outdoor arena was still alittle wet from all the rain...grrr...lol). But Creek was a really good boy! We worked on the posting trot for about 15 minutes than my instructor worked with us on the western trot(slow) and i thought it wouldnt work. She told me to get him into the trot and pull back on the reins every once in a while to get him to slow down and he did it! It was so much smoother than his regular trot and i loved it! He was the best boy ever!! Anybody else have as good a days as this on??! :D
