What brand of saddle do you use and why?
I use my mum's old Stubben Siegfried, it's still in literally perfect condition though, despite being almost 30 years old!! It's not really cushy, but it's a classicaly cut, deep-seated saddle...AKA...VERY comfy. I'm hoping it'll last another 10+ years.

Stubbens really hold up. My tristan was at least 10 years old but was awesome. My horse decided he didn't care much for it though so I sold it to my trainer. :o Tried a Passier and Kieffer and Courbette Dekuffny and my horse moved like a dream under the courbette. :p I LOVE that saddle.

I have a Pessoa A/O. I love it. I bought it used, but is the most comfortable thing I've ever ridden in.

I dont have a saddle but I use a close contact saddle, Im not sure what brand it is becuase it is old but it is confertable.
I think it would be cool to have a Pessoa saddle. I used one on Tilda ( AKA Waltzin Matilda ) and it was SO comfertable. You can see it if you go to my pictures.

I was going to buy a new close-contact Courbette saddle actually, but it got sold and I started riding at a new barn. I never actually rode in it, but I did sit on it and it was really comfy.

I actually just recently bought a new M. Toulousse Luciano Master Saddle, 17in Med Tree... I <3 it especially since it was nearly 50% off!

All you Stubben lovers make me proud. I am a Swiss and I must say I am a Stubben user.. It was the only saddle i have ever been comfortable in and the only one that fit my horse. Saddles like clothes come into and out of fashion (Pessoa being then "in" saddle of the moment). However, my mom still has her 1963 Stubben Parcival which I learned to ride in, and still is in perfect condition. If that doesn't say Investment I don't know what does.

Right now I have a crosby... looking for a new saddle b/c it's not fitting my horse. I am riding in a collegiate while I look for one and I can't stand the collegiate. It's awful.
I have owned a stubben siegfried... held up well and was like riding in a couch... and I also won a Pessoa Stadium... it didn't fit the horse I won it on so I sold it.. now I'm kicking myself for not keeping it!!!

Just tried out a "Brunet Pineau" saddle today, and loved it! So, most likely going to buy it. :D It's so nice to ride in after riding in the saddle I've been using for the past few months.

i have a relatively-new lancer, it's my first saddle, but it doesn't break in very well. i really wouldn't mind a wintec, for the price i heard they're very good.
my friend rides in a gorgeous oooooold pessoa that was passed down to her by her mother. it's sooo comfy.
has anyone ever heard of Balance saddles? i guess they're only sold in england, but from what i hear, they're excellent.

i just got a new hermes, the esentielle. i absolutely LOVE it, i got it because it was one of the only saddles that fit my super-picky hard to fit horse but so far it's put every horse i've put it on [which is a LOT, haha.] it's definitely the best saddle i've ever ridden in.

i was hoping to hear that! at $4,300.00 it needs to last a long time, fit me and lots of horses!!! have you tried the allures? that's #2 on my list(i might try both at the same time).

either the Dover catalog or call hermes NY. the reps name is courtney-they may have already left for Wellington though.

"I am riding in a collegiate while I look for one and I can't stand the collegiate. It's awful."
Personally, I like collegiates. They're affordable, quick-breaking litte saddles. I think they're the perfect first saddle, good for a pony-rider or a rider who does small shows. The older collegiates and ill fitting collegiates CAN be really uncomfortable, but if you find one that fits you they're quite comfy.

"Has anyone heard of Hermes?"
I have. I've seen them in Dover a lot. They're very pretty, I love the cut of the skirt, but they're SO EXPENSIVE. I've never seen anything like it...4k for a saddle? I think it's insane, but that's just me. I don't know where you can buy them except through mail order though.

i got my demo from courtney [the rep], it was super easy & they just send it to you & once you choose which saddle you want, you can use that demo until yours comes in. i just got my new saddle a couple weeks ago, and i absolutely LOVE it! courtney's email is ccaverzasi@hermesofparis.com, and her phone is 212 812 1873. she's the one you want to talk to if you're at all interested in an hermes saddle.
