Did you guys hear are the staff infection that a school was carrying?!?! I think there where several kids that had caught it! :eek: I'm REALLY scared my school might get it.... :(

They've been going on and on about it here in Hernando county too. I'm not too worried though.

I don't think its Fletcher High. I think its a school in Oceanway or somewhere around there. Not sure though. :rolleyes:

It's this really really bad infection. I don't know where you get it but all I know is that you can possible die from it. :eek:

It is caused by LOTS of germs and bacteria. (Like schools) I don't think there is a cure for it!!!! :eek:

STAPH infection is a virus that is going around and it has become resistant to antibiotics. It's always been here, but now people are playing it up nowadays because we are all so antibioticed out and our immune system can't defend us anymore.

That sounds very nasty, sounds similar to the MRSA bug we have here in hospitals, it has become immune to antibiotics.

A staph infection occurs when the Staphylococcus bacteria enters an open wound. Unfortunately, it is very contagious and is passed between people sharing towels, or such things passing on the bacteria from the skin's surface. Until the recent semi-outbreak, they have normally occurred in hospitals. If not caught early on, it can take quite a while to heal. It's resistant to penicillin, which makes it a bit more tricky, but there are effected antibiotics.

My friend has Staff Infection from her soccer pads.... and apparenlty five kids has died from it and itches really bad.
