So I rode Joker last week a WONDERFUL HORSE, i love everything about him, his gait is tremendous. Although I love him, we ride at like 6;15, and its kind of dark, the gate casts a shadow that he is afraid of, any tips ?

just walk him by it and talk to him as he walks by it. Or you can either stay on or get off and make him walk and look at it or make him stand in it. (also still talk to him when he does it and praise him when he doesnt spook)

You shouldn't be riding when it's dark!

just because you can see clear doesn't mean your horse can!

If you want to ide at night you should have a lighted arena or a BUNCH or lights on.

My horse used to do the same to me. The corner where there is a shadow,Get a lunge line and lunge him in that corner .Make him go by it both directions intill he isnt stoping/spooking at it. He will have to just get over. I did that with my horse and she quit.

To keep him from spooking while riding keep your leg firm, and RIDE like normal. Ask for a bit of bend and just get them working. Don't make a big deal about it or it will become a big deal. Ignore it, basically, and keep making him work.
