ok so I am thinking of going back to english too I aint hanging up my cowgirl boots though. NO WAY!lol I was thinking jumping, but then again dressage was my strong point back then. see I used to ride english for 5 years then I went to western the past 5 years. All total 10 years of riding for me. I am trying to get back in the swing of a english saddle.lol I look/feel funny. So which do you do or prefer jumping or dressage? Just wanting to see what all the english people are into. .

Well, I personally love Dressage, it's my passion. Jumping is good to. The way I do it is I take Dressage seriously and jump for fun. However, if I did choose jumping, I would want to do Hunters or Equitation. Those are my favorites. Dressage forever for me though<3

i love dressage, but it's not for me.

i love jumping, especially in the hunters :D

but you have to do what YOU want, not what we tell you. it comes down to what you enjoy and are comfortable doing.

Moved to Hunters/Jumpers > Training (i don't know where else to put it?)

I would absolutely love to learn eventing, the discpline that combines both :p.

But for me...actually, I would shoot for dressage and jumping! I think jumping builds up both the trust bond between you and your horse and courage, too. And dressage I think is for dedication, respect, discpline between both horse and rider.

Just my take on things.

Here's a saying:

"Like what you do, do what you like."

Eventing

dressage- creates a supple responsive horse who responds to the slightest touch

cross country- demands a bold and powerful jumper who trust the direction of the rider

stadium- demands technique and precision

Both! They compliment each other; you could even do eventing. But, if not, hunters. :)
