I'm looking to get a saddle for my young niece who has recently started riding (she's 4) and my saddle is far too big for her, even when being ponied. Where do you get your saddles (besides the tack stores?) Anywhere online would be great...I've looked on Ebay, but as of today they don't really have what I'm looking for (of course that will probably change by tomorrow)...but until then, does anyone have any good places to look? I've already been to Horse.com, and requested a catalogue from American Saddlery... I think she needs a 10" western with FQH bars...
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

and i guess obviously get something on the cheapish sidde since she will out grow it... unless you want to keep it in the family? thats would be nice...

You could try Rod's Western Palace, in Columbus, Ohio. At Quarter Horse Congress and Equine Affaire the place has a HUGE set up, with so much cool stuff :].
They could probably ship a saddle to you, they have nearly everything!
http://www.rods.com/ (http://www.rods.com/)
They have some really nice saddles...could she possibly use a 12" and have it for a longer time to grow into?
:].
Hope I helped!

Thanks for the help, but I think 12" would be too big, she a skinny little thing. :) I'd rather her have something that fits her now, then trade it in when she outgrows it....she needs security now since she's just getting into riding regularly...:)

Thanks for everyone's help! I ended up being patient with Ebay and somehow ran across exactly what I needed for her....it's a brand new black western saddle and I won it for $10.50! We've already fit it to my mare and my niece and it fits great...Now...does anyone know if they make those comfy seat things for kids? I've only been able to find them for adults, and this saddle has a hard seat...but for $10.50, my sweet little angel isn't going to complain. lol. :D

you can also go to tack trader.com.. they have got stuff for cheap ( theymight have a saddle)
otherwise i would go with the smallest size of saddle you can get like even if it is a 12inch .. you can get a saddle cover and it will sorta shrink down the size
or you can use buddy sturrups... thye hook to the horse so she can fit in the sturrups
if u lived in washington i would recomend going to K&S Saddley they do everything for you

I get mine at the local tack shop or I find one that someone is selling.

I got my western and close-contact from a local tack shop and I bought my dressage saddle from a lady I know.
