Ok so this is my first time buy a show jacket for myself. I don't understand the sizing though. I thought i would take advantage of an offer on doversaddlery for a jacket that is only $100.00 since i am an email subscriber. I tryed searching around there website for a measurement chart but i couldnt seem to find one. Can anyone tell me about the measurements? They list like a size 8 and would that be like a small in the "non-horsey" world? HELP!

I think if you wear like a size 10 for example in the normal world then you can wear a size 10 in the horsey world

A) find the coat you want

b) google the name of that brand + "fitting chart"

here's one for the ovation jacket (around 89-100)

:p
sleeve perhaps?

If that is the case, I'd order up a size and get the sleeves hemmed. Heck, if you're mom or friend is half decent, they can fold the sleeve under and put in a stitch or two to hold it.

It's always better to have sleeves a bit too long then too short, IMO.

Oh shoot, mine doesn't say what size it is. You really should buy a riding jacket in a store though, because it's something you really need to judge based on fit. Go to your local tack store to at least find what coat/size works best, and then look online if you need to find one of a lower cost.
