I'm gonna go riding on the beach sometime in the near future and I need to know some stuff... What should I wear? Should I use synthetic tack? Should I wrap my horse's legs? What should I use to collect the manure? Anything that would help would be appreciated!

If your going to put anything on his legs, which i think you shouldn't, DO NOT put polar fleece or polos etc as they shrink when they get wet, so if you are I would suggest galloping boots. If your taking him in the water, salt water is good for their legs! So go for it nekkid! lol
If you have synthetic tack, I would use it, as leather can get ruined if wet, BUT if you don't, don't buy it just for the beach ride. Honestly, I've taken horses swimming before (obviously bareback) and we used leather bridles, and all we had to do was dry them for a day or two, Just hanging them. Then we used ammonia to dry them more, and clean it (Make sure you use it OUTSIDE or in a well ventilated area, as over inhalation can be toxic) then oil well. Guarenteed, we did get our tack SOAKED... so if its just a little wet, just clean it well.
Enough rambling lol!
I've never ridden on a beach, so I don't know if you are required to clean up after your horse, but where we take our horses swimming, its "open land" therefore, manure is not only acceptable, but expected!
Ok, enough said...
Enjoy your beach ride!

Don't put anything on your horses legs. Salt water is very good for their feet and legs, so covering them would do more harm than good. You need to prepare for the worst. Dress is layers. I know when i went to the beach, it was really sunny, but as soon as we reached the water, the fog was extremely thick and freezing cold, so just be wary that the worst weather can happen. I'd say not to worry about your tack too much unless you are going to go frolicking neck deep into the freezing water.
If you are going to a public beach, manure won't be a problem, so don't even worry about it. The ocean will clean it for you. xD

I was just wondering about leg wraps because I know deep sand can be tough on joints and tendons and stuff, but I guess we won't be riding in the dunes so it'll be okay. One of my friends in California gets to go for her birthday, which is today. NOT FAIR!!! It is totally my dream to gallop on a beach, specially with my bestest buddy, but NOOOOO, she gets to go all by herself. Damn.

riding on the beach is a BLAST!!!
1) if you need boots use plastic galloping boots
2) If you have synthetic tack use it, optherwise go BAREBACK! its fuuuunnn
If you dont have a synthetic bridle I'd take an old one that you dont really need to ever use in a show or anything.
3) Use a plaastic troxel or something b/c the sand, salt water can ruin velvet and suade (GPAs)
well have fun if you go!!!
