Cough could develop into heaves - PLEASE RESPOND!

Ok my mom talked to the vet of one of the horses that I'm getting, who is supposed to be here friday i think. the vet said that last time she was out to see him it was to examine a cough during the fall. the owner said it didn't happen all year, it was more of a seasonal thing. the vet said it wasn't really anything to worry about at the moment, but it had the potential to develop into heaves, or might be a very very early sign of heaves. he's 5, and he's such a great guy. if we buy him and he develops heaves, i think we'll have a harder time selling him when we need to. on the other hand, he's such a great guy and i'm looking forward to working with him so much.

i've read up on heaves and stuff, but i would loooooove some input!! please reply! :(

ahhh sorry for flipping out. it turns out that the vet who talked to my mom got the horse i'm interested in confused with the owner's other horse, who is older. the vet just got the records out.

but what a relief!!! *breathes*

my old pony had heaves. We gave him this Wendel's herbs supplement and that seemed to control it a bit. He was always a noisy breather though.

it's so sad to see a horse with heaves, really heartwrenching.
