How do I add an avatar? Do you have to have a certain number of posts to get to use an avatar?

I don't think you can have one, because I set up mine too and it isn't showing up.

The admin has one. ;)
Maybe it's based on membership level? (we're all junior members) I hope he/she will tell!

Anyone can have an avatar. It's not based on membership level. Go to your profile and click "edit avatar". Make sure the dot for "use custom avatar" is filled in and then browse for the avatar you want to use. Make sure it is small enough for the space requirements. Size is 80 pixels by 80 pixels, or 19.5kb- whichever is smaller. As long as the image you want to use meets the size requirements, it will work. Once you have chosen the avatar, make sure you click "save changes". Please let me know if you have any difficulties.

Mine says:
Your Current Avatar
No Avatar Specified
Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.
Do not use an avatar
Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.
It doesn't have another dot, besides the do no use an avatar one.

ditto. There's no other option than to not use one.
This is what my screen looks like when I'm on the avatar page:

I found the problem with the avatar settings. Try adding it now and let me know if you have difficulties.
For those that are uncertain, you can add/ change avatar by clicking my profile and then clicking edit avatar .
Thanks for your patience.

Hi, I can't get my avatar to work either? I made it 80 by 80 or less and it says something like The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 20000 bytes.
Any ideas whats wrong?

What is the size of your file?

That's the number of pixels, which does not necessarily translate into file size it bytes. Right click on the file and click properties and see what size it is. If it is bigger than 20kb, you need to make it smaller. If it is smaller, let me know so I can look into it.

I made my smaller than 19.5 KB or whatever it is, but its still bigger than 80x80 but shouldn't it still work since it says whichever one is smaller? If not how do I make it 80x80 pixels?

Why 80x80 when most avatars are 100x100?
