Hey guys-
My baby is coming back after a month off (stupid splints), and we're going to bring her back pretty slowly. What are some fun pole exercises or flatwork exercises to keep my baby entertained but still building muscle?
Thanks!

you could set up a bunch of poles on the ground in the arena, or wherever, in no order, and just walk and trot over them at random times...it keeps them entertained!

i know a good exersise that trains and keeps them busy. put on a bridal and stand beside the horses neck on wichever side feels most comfortable. but you should be ableto do it on bolth sides. take the reins and (dont put them over her neck) say you were on the left side then you would shorten the right rein so that it was tight and then take the left rein and turn her in a tight circle what this does is teach her to cross her left foot in front of her right when she turns. it helps in teaching her to side step. and it also helps with manners to. if you do it on bolth sides it should take awyle to get it right so it will keep her busy.tell me how well it works if you try it.leftycowgirl23

Raised trotting poles are always fun. Just spread them farther apart if she's just coming back. My baby goes over them really nicely. :)
