 What does everyone thing about that show on TLC about the road to the Maclay? Its hard for me to feel sorry for someone who has a lot of really expensive horses. "My horse got hurt so now I have to choose which one of my other equitation horses I am going to ride" I do think its good that horse programs are coming into the mainstream. I think the show is Wednesday nights 8 or 9 on TLC. There is one coming out about Grand Prix horses that I am really excited about.

Definitely a little cheesy, although I think it is great to see our sport getting some recognition. Do you know when the one about Grand Prix show jumping is on, or what it is called?

I agree with megan. It is good to see the sport getting publicity. However I do like seeing the differences between the sport on the east coast and the west coast. And its cool to watch the good riders on it. But the music is sooooooooooooooooooooooo tacky and the person that talks in the background is really wierd. He really over uses the phases "the unthinkable happens" and "to prove to her self that she belongs".

I think its called the Sport Horse Cup, on March 8th at 8 or 9...on Animal Planet I think.

I also think that its sad how they think that the 2 foot drop is "so scary"...I'm an eventer, and I don't mind 5 foot drops into water, but I think they lead people to believe that the sport is scary, and its not that bad when you have been competeing at that level for a while and been doing well.

I agree it is cheesy, but it is good to finally have some horse programs out there

i think it's stretched out a little bit, with tiny little issues and they could compact it into a shorter show. i like to watch it but it's kind of boring when they're not doing stuff directly related to the finals stuff. and i wish they'd get into the training more, like how the riders are preparing differently and how the different horses make for differences in the courses and all that.

last week i was kinda disappointed that like, half the show followed that one girl to her 4h fair thing. it's nice and all, but it doesn't really apply i think.

I also think that they should get more into the training part of it.

I watch the show too and I totally agree with everything you girls said. I laughed and laughed with the girl who said the announcer uses the phrases " and the UNTHINKABLE happen!" to much! lmao! and the show really is cheesy. Do you girls have access to RFD tv on satallite? It stands for Rural Farm Delivery and is geared towards rural and farm life. They have a ton of great horse programming. Clinton Anderson down under horsemanship, parelli natural horsemanship, the John Lyons Legacy, Dennis Reis, and others. They have like a two hour block of horse programming. If you get a chance, check it out :D

well, now that we all know who won, what do you think?

i think they were really solid all through, and with the little quirks thrown in they really caught the attention. i'm suprised nikko didn't do better, i had high expectations of him.

I watch the show, only because I find a great deal of humor in the whole thing, I like Frank Madden as a trainer, he seems to have a great since of humor and is good the his students. Personally I do give all the riders on the show some credit, and it is really interesting to see how they match up to our eq riders in Zone 9. I am in "aw" how they talk about ASPCA finals like its a common tack all eq riders get to attend,
but.hey its just ASPCA Finals, mainly talking about brianne and nikko in that situation. Personally if i ever got to live in any of those girls shoes for one show season. . . wow enought said, they are way lucky. Okay I am done ranting. :D

I think maybe Nikko had too many expectations put on him from his parents ect and that may be why he didn't do as well. I thought it was great we got to watch Brianne make it through all four:) Will the show keep going, or is that it? Loved the sport cup champoinship, did everyone else like that???

I didn't even get to watch the last one. I know that the Sport Horse Cup I was told would be on sometime this week.

ahhh i loved that show!! it was especially awesome because it ran through the entire course of indio, so nicole & i made a point to watch it every wednesday. ok i admit it, we were a little obsessed with it. and we're kinda sad it's over. i guess i'll just have to go back to watching america's next top model now.

That seems like something you and your sister would do, how's dappy?? I heard he was for sale.

I thought that Maggie from Andr'e Dignelli's barn and Maria from Frank Madden's barn were the best riders.

i meant nicole bourgeois (we stayed together at indio), my sis doesn't ride anymore. :) dappy was a really good boy and got sold at indio the 3rd week, but not before he helped me get mid circuit and grand circuit champion awards in the adult eq :)
