ok, so i'm going to be doing some local unrated shows, and i have a small issue. i wear breeches (they come to the top of my calf) and my dress boots, with black knee socks under my boots. but when i ride sometimes my breeches come out of my boot a little bit so there is sometimes a gap. should i be wearing long breeches? or are mine too small? or what?

and forgive me if i failed to use proper terminology, i know there are different names for different styles of riding pants.

Your breeches are probably too small...what brand are they?? They shouldn't be that far up on your leg, but mine are always a little above the ankle bone...

If they are not too small, I would go to your local tack shop and get some advice from them.

no i think they're supposed to be at calf height because the knee patch is still where my knee is.

idk. i'll probably just buy some new ones anyway.

Yeah, your breeches are way too short. They should go to just above your ankle bone.
