Well,
as a lot of you know, I quit western because I want to show English Pleasure (and crossrails once I move to W/T/C). SO, I sold my WP show set, my husband's new camo-print trail saddle set (it didn't fit my mare anyway...) and took the money to the bank, came home, and ordered my new saddle. This happened yesterday. I got an e-mail today that it was shipped from the tack store and will arrive TOMORROW!!! For free shipping, I was expecting it some time next week maybe...

Anywho, I decided, after talking to a bunch of English riders and my new trainer that I would get the Wintec 2000. I found it for a steal on the internet. Everyone seems to be asking the same price for it on the internet, but this tack store was throwing in the Wintec Girth, and the stirrup leathers and free shipping....

Here's a link to it (site won't let me upload a pic for some reason...) So, yeah, what do you think? It's synthetic and has an inter-changeable gullet system with it, which is great for my mare, she builds muscle like crazy after a month of cantering, but loses it like crazy if she gets two weeks off....lol.

This isn't the place I got it from or anything, mine was less expensive than that, and frankly a better deal, but anyway...I decided on this one because when I was at my local tack store, I sat in a bunch of english saddles and this one was miles above the rest, comfort wise I mean. It's like sitting on a tank! I fell in love with it and knew I was going to get one...*sigh*

I looked on the link and it's Brown. ;)
It's hard to determine for me from the picture though! But it's brown. :D

Yeah, it's brown. :) I like black tack, too, but if I want to show EP, I have to have brown. I can't wait for it to get here, I'm so restless waiting around (today's my day off.lol.) So I'll get pics of it when I put it on Star... Thanks 4 the comments, guys!

Well I've ridden in it twice now...the 1st time we had to get it fitted to STar (she needs a Medium Wide, so it's good thing I have the gullet change system)...the 1st time I rode, I wasn't expecting it to be so COMFORTABLE!!! I'd sat in my saddle before but didn't expect it to feel the same...it feels like I'm riding on air! (Which I kind of am, it has the CAIR system...)

SO anyways, I only trotted the 1st time and worked on posting and diagnals and got a couple pics in...it was almost dark by the time I got on so there wasn't time to canter, and I wasn't pushing it...

Then I rode again last night...it seemed a lot easier for some reason, like I was already used to posting (been practicing posting bareback while waiting for my saddle, so I guess I am used to it by now). But then I decided to canter to see how I could handle it FOr some reason, I always assumed it would be harder to keep my balance at the canter in an english saddle...

Boy was I wrong. I've never enjoyed cantering my mare as much as I do English. It was perfect! I can't wait to go ride again...:)

Oh yeah the changeable gullet system is amazing! We're looking to buy a wintec with that system, as Foxy is a medium wide also! *snap* he he.
I'm glad you liked the wintec! I've heard many people say they're amazingly comfy.. we're looking into getting one, so from your comments I see it's a wise choice! :p

It really is, Moodymare...and the gullet change system was quick and easy...I basically blinked and my husband was like "okay, it's changed."

I love my Wintec! :D
