Ok, so my 13 year old gelding, Ryker, Just came to me. He was a problem horse and is getting better.

But, i have a question.

Everytime we trailride, or road ride, his trot is EXTREMELY rocky, and no matter what i try, he will swerve to the opposite side of the road.

Is it me, or is it even fixable?!

i am so lost. i think i have tried everything. .

Hmm, I thought if a horse has a rocky gait, it's just how they are and you have to post then.

But I'm not that experienced...hopefully someone who knows more will reply.

if you've had your horse checked by the vet, i'm not really sure what to say.
Is your horse a special breed or something that would make him do that?

Do you mean rocky as tense and uncomfortable? If he seems like he's trotting on eggshells and swerving, than he is either having an issue with his feet or tack (pinching) or he is scared. If the vet and farrier have checked him, and they say nothing is wrong than he may be scared. Since he is a problem horse, he may still have some issues to work through. My best advice is to work him in calm areas with no or little traffic. Work on lunging and lots of trotting work.

When u ride, do u go on rocky or cement (sp?)? That would be a cause of that. If u ride him on that kind of surface shoes would help. Or he might have a deep stone bruse
