So im so excited for my first show of the season! Its on April 4th and its a half arab show which Creek will be perfect for! And he gets to see his girlfriend again who is at a different barn! Its going to be so much fun! I dont care if we win anything we are just going to have some fun and stretch our legs from that long winter!

We are going to be doing walk/trot classes which include english hunter pleasure, equitation, and western pleasure and western horsemanship! I havent done any english classes yet so if anyone has any tips for english that would be appreciated :D

I just did my first English show a few weeks ago, I also show western...

all I can really tell you is keep your heels down, because those babies come up while you're thinking about things like the judge, the other riders and horses, your horse, your diagnols, collection, speed, passing, being passed...you see where the heels can be completely forgotten? :) I took 2nd in Equitation and came out of the ring and these people I didn't really know came up and were like "you would have won, sweetie, but your heels were up!" lol. Granted, my mare was tired, and I had to keep nudging her to trot and canter, so I wasn't really worried about my heels as much as my lazy/tired mare quitting on me.

Just have fun, go out for the experience since it's your first time english, and don't worry about placing. If you do, then you'll be pleasantly surprised that way, thats what happened with me anyway. I just tried to have fun and not worry about placing, and I ended up bringing home Reserve Grand Champion.

Let us know how it goes!

He he nope. The weather is rubbish over here, it's not even near the time of year to do much yet over here. Joys of England eh.

I've never showed in my life, I did some showjumping at a pony day on my fave riding school horse Merlin... but thats about it he he. I have a few rosettes from them days but thats it. It'd be nice...

Good luck!

Remember to relax! Keep in mind of the people around you in the arena and stay calm. English judges like to see calm riders who can keep a good form. Try to keep your comands to your horse as invisible as possible, so you remain subtle and smile. Judges like to see you enjoying yourself!

It does feel weird, but it can be the difference of winning and losing. This girl in a goat show won cause she smiled the whole time!

So we have decided not to go to the show. Its suppose to be cold and we might get snow. We are probably still going to ride but at my barn or theirs. And Creek really isnt in that good of shape right now cuz of the winter and me not being able to work him as much. He was kinda cranky yesterday cuz he got his shots and sheath cleaned wednesday so it will probably be better just to wait.

We have a novice show on may 17th so its going to be more fun riding there! And he will be in better shape by then.

P.S. My trainer got back from Montana a couple days ago!! So excited!! :D
