Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone rides with glasses. (Extremely dumb question, I know). I just got mine today (Tuesday) and I want to know if it affects your riding, like if it makes you dizzy when you ride with them for the first time. Thanks for putting up with my silly questions.

Hi, really its not a stupid question. :o I road with glasses for a while(now i have contacts) it really wasnt a problem. the only thing was that you had to be careful not to fall or that when you trot or canter that they dont fall off.
you can get a string; like the ones you put on sunglasses that way if they fall off they are still around your neck and not in a horses hoof :D

Hey, I have been riding with glasses for like 3 years. I have fallen off many horses and my glasses never came off. As long as your glasses fit you well, you should have no problem!
And it doesnt affect your ride at all! :D

I've always ridden with glasses, but I'm getting contacts tomorrow =D I find riding with glasses helps sometimes, especially when the terrain you're riding on is dusty, it keeps things from getting into your eyes. =D

Hehe, this is two years too early. La. But uh, yeah, I've never ridden without glasses...though once, it was raining lightly, and I had to take them off while I was riding Smokey...but nah, nothing.
Not that it matters because obviously you've already done it. =P
I'm soo bored...sorry to awaken a deaded post, hehe.

I am officially blind, and if I get any blinder I can't wear contacts (strongest prescription they make) and I ride frequenlty in glasses, aas I can't always wear contacts. Ilike contacts when training in unpedictable situations tho, as losing my glasses puts me underwater (fishface)....

totally not a dumb ?. i have glasses. they work just fine. the only thing is is that when u fall, make sure they dont fall off. also, they may slide down ur face when u canter or jump, but its really not that bad. i have always been riding with glasses and nothin bad has happened.

I have glasses right now because of an allergic reaction about a month ago that caused my eyes to swell shut...
The only thing I hate doing with them on is picking hooves, the glasses just hang when that happens....pretty irritating, really.lol. But they do have a plus when riding - sand doesn't get in your eyes, and bugs don't get in your eyes, at least not for me...

i used to ride with glasses, did it for almost two years. it wasn't that bad, except for the fact that i would sweat profusely with them on my face and in the winter/rain they would fog up. however, i live in texas where you sweat even in winter, so that could be why. i took only one nasty fall where my horse fell over with me, but my glasses didn't move. i suppose if you landed really badly they could cause some issues, but no one i know has ever had an issue with that.
i reccomend contacts, though. they are much less annoying in the slippage and heat and overall annoyance factor. and as for the getting stuff in your eye thing ... that happens to me regardless of contacts or glasses, haha, so it made no difference to me.
