Who wants a CanterCulture mini-bike!?!

I'm happy to announce our first (and certainly not the last) CanterCulture.com contest!!

The winner of this great contest will receive a Honda CRF50 with custom CanterCulture graphics!!

How do you win? The goal is to be the member that gets the most people to sign up with CanterCulture between July 15th 2005 and Sept 30th 2005. Referrals you already have will not count towards the contest. For each 10 referrals that a member gets, they will receive one entry into the drawing for the mini-bike.

Rules of the contest:

1) Don't even think about making fake profiles to try to boost your referral count. My system verifies all profiles and if I find that a fake profile has been created, you will be disqualified from the contest. Let's keep it clean.

2) The people you refer to the site must enter your username for you to get credit. Make sure they know your username.

3) Drawing date and location TBD.

Nope- location doesn't matter. As far as age, if you're under 18 we'll need your parents permission. If, for some reason they refuse to give their permission we'll come up with some other amazing prize. But seriously, what parent wouldn't want their kid to have a custom CanterCulture mini-bike?!?! ;)

Keep in mind that I started the contest on July 15th, so referrals you had prior to that date won't count.

In answer to your question though, I can run a search for number of referrals between any two days and the system will tell me who has the most referrals.

Also, in answer to your question, if you had 34 referrals since July 15th, you would have three entries.

Keep in mind, as was expertly explained in the Referrals thread, referrals on your home profile are actually referring to posts in the forum. The number of actual referrals is shown on your forum profile. Sorry, this is a little confusing.

1st- Savanna with 21
2nd- hot2trot with 9
3rd- Pinnacle with 7

So currently Savanna has two entries (one entry per 10 referrals) in the drawing. Hot2trot and Pinnacle very close to having their first entries.

We have just started this, so there is plenty of time to catch these users if you have just noticed the contest.

Here are the latest standings for the CanterCulture mini-bike contest.

As a reminder, the mini-bike will be awarded from a drawing. To get an entry in the drawing, you need 10 referrals. For each 10 you get, you get another entry. Pretty simple- right? You could win the mini-bike with one entry, but your chances go up with each additional entry. So tell all your horse friends to sign up and make sure they use your username in the referral space. NO CHEATING- see my initial post for details.

1st- Savanna has 2 entries and is coming up on a third (26 referrals)
2nd- Pinnacle has 1 entry (10 referrals)
3rd- Several people are close to getting their first entry- hot2trot (9), AidEE (6), HorseShowGirl09 (5), hunterjumperluv (5)

I have not had the drawing yet. I would like to arrange to have as many people as possible there to witness the drawing so there are no questions as to the fairness of the drawing. I know that AidEE and SevdaTVF are in my area and I will ask that both of you be present. I'm not sure where the rest of you are located. If you are local or plan to be in the area (Portland, Oregon) in the near future I would like you to be present as well.

If each of you could send me a message telling me where you are located or if you have any travel plans, it will help me establish the drawing date.

One side note to the future winner....... If you are under the age of 18, I will need to hear from your parents to confirm that they approve of you having a mini-bike. If they do not approve, we will pick another prize which will be equally cool.

If the person that wins the mini-bike is from out of the area, they will be responsible for the shipping costs. On your public profile, referrals is really your number of posts (49)- a little confusing.

Sorry- I've been busy with my "day job" and haven't been as diligent as I should about checking this thread. I'm in the process of buying the mini-bike and getting it "tacked up" with CanterCulture decals. Until I get this taken care of, I'm reluctant to set a date for the drawing. Absolute worst case, we will have the drawing at the OHJA Year-End Awards Banquet- hopefully sooner. There is a part of me though, that thinks it would be fun to have it with everyone there to watch the drawing. I'll keep you posted on my progess on getting the decals on it and we'll see how far we are away from the banquet. Deal?

Just an update on the contests.......

I am going to have the drawing for the minibike at the OHJA year-end awards banquet. I don't have a specific date, but I believe it is the first week of Jan. Stay tuned for more details.

As for the profile contest (see thread in "Aisle Party" if you haven't heard about the profile contest) I have been trying to wait for people to work on their profiles and to get enough names to have a vote. So far it looks like 5 or 6 people have thrown their names in the hat. Something to remember, if anyone sees a cool profile while browsing members, it'd be great if you could recommend them for the contest.

The drawing for the mini-bike is going to be held at the Oregon Hunter Jumper Association year-end awards banquet. The banquet is being held at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn on 1/7/06 at 5:30.
