I have some "non-horsey" friends that really don't like horses. They refer to them as "gay" which I find incredibly insulting, since I love horses!
Even my one "non-horsey" friend talks about horses with my other "horsey" friends (I introduced every one, and they also met during classes in school, we have known each other all for about two years :D ). My friends and I sometimes talk about horses (diffrent breeds we like, how riding lessons went, how everyone's horses are doing and stuff like that).
Well, on the other hand, I try to talk to my other friends about horses and they're like: "horses are gay." I know that everyone is very entitled to their own opinion, but why can't they just keep this to themselves?
I would still like to be friends with these people, they are very nice, I just wish they would keep their opinions about horses and riding to themselves. But I do sometimes say their interests are "gay" and I know I shouldn't, but a lot of times it's after they say horses are "gay" and I'm mad at them. What goes around comes around.
Do you guys ever have this problem with some of your "non-horsey" friends? Could you give me some advice?
