I'm a shorter person, about 5'2". Some horses that are prefect for me are HUGE! They're around 16.0 hands or taller! I mean, not all of them are, but a lot of them. I've ridden a 16.2 horse before and it seemed way up there to me. That was when I was an idiot and rode Cowboy, who's really spooky. But anyways.
Would I look odd on a 16.0 or taller horse? Cheyenne, the mare I ride during lessons now, is around 15.2-15.3, and I feel very comfortable on her. Thing is, I would like to get into jumping and cross-country, and you always see the really tall horses doing that.
