I have always always wanted to try field hunting but living in Oregon that just isn't a possibility. Does anyone know if there are any Hunter Paces around here? And if not, is there any interest in getting some started? I want to jump cross country without having to do dressage. :D Plus the hunter paces are done as groups so it sounds more fun. My east coast friend says they are a blast.

If there is interest, I would be willing to help getting something like this started. It doesn't have to be huge - jumps up to 3' maybe and a course of 5 miles or so - it just sounds really fun.

If your willing to drive a little way, out at Camelot we are having a TON in the end of 05/start of 06. I think we go from Intro-Intermediate right now. Its in Butte Valley, CA (near Chico, which is in the VERY top part of California). I'm sure Mike will let you stable overnight, and if your interested I can get you more information. Entry fees are normall $10-$15 and stabling is sometimes free or $10 a night I think. They are exellent hunter paces, that I always try to get out to. Camelot is going to be a International level course eventually, so it would be nice to come out while the fees are still low :p. There is also a dressage show on August 20th, if your interested.
