Where should a coat stop? At the hip, below the hip, ect?

Also, what is the proper tightness or looseness of a coat?

Thank you!

this is hard to explain for me but my hunt coat stopped at my hip, but thats when i was in the saddle. and i also hate it when they are tight. i like the losseness of it. so you can bend and acutally ride.

I'd take a peak at tack catalogs to look at where the coat should stop length wise. i think the "style" is for coats to be slightly fitted through the waist. The important thing is that is doesn't pull when you are riding. A lot of the times when you try one on they have you reach straight out w/ your arms. If your not sure you could go to a tack shop and have them help you pick out a size.

ur hunt jacket should never stop above the hips. It should just rest on ur hips or go longer....most hunt jackets go down past the hips. and u dont want your jacket to be too small that u cant move but u want it so that it fits u and looks kinda tight... u dont want them to look baggy

They should be fitted, but not overly tight. The arms should be long enough to cover your wrists while your arms are hanging straight down. The jacket should go to a little below your hips.

I was always told that your coat should come about half way down your butt, be fitted a touch loosely for movement around your waist/stomach

I just went and got my sleeves shortened on my new jacket... the had some sort of way to measure it. It was a certain number of inches from the tip of your thumb. hehe.. too bad I don't know the measurement.
