VS syndrome

who knows any thing about vs syndrome and the ban that several states have on horses from az? we just tried to purchase a phenomonal mare from az only to find out that we couldnt get her here bc the usda has a ban on anyhorses from the area she was in. it was extremely sad b/c now b/c of some mix ups from the seller we have decided not to purchase her

well my vet said that it is not a fatal disease! the only reason the ban was placed was because it does cause a big economical loss. esp in tn/ky area! an infected horse will have blisters in it mouth... and thats about all ive learned. the ban will be lifted as soon as it frosts there, but who knows when that will be in marcopia county arizona! i didnt know it even frosted there!!
