My trainer's stable is over an hour away, so since we aren't showing this year ('cept for the curly show new month) I moved Regal to a small, private stable tonight. They breed QH racehorses- used to train in the 90's- so they have a ton of empty stalls these days and I got a great deal. It's going to be SO great to have my horse close enough to just run out and love on him whenever. I know he's been associating me with "work" the last few weeks. :(
The guy who owns it is soooooo cowboy. It's a good thing I waited to tell him I rode english (What do you ride? dressage. what? dressage- you know... the olympics.... *sigh*) until after he'd agree to board. LOL. :D
Here he is being to much of a piggy to pose for me

Yes, I'll be moving Regal back to my trainers when it gets really cold- probably Jan or Feb- maybe sooner (especially if he's as naughty as he has been the last few days!). I'm actually hoping to move myself closer to my trainer next spring. I'm sick of driving so far (about 90minutes) and am self employed so I might as well.
I rode on their racetrack at this new farm today! That was interesting! Their arena footing is HORRIBLE right now. I talked to the barn owner who said he'd work it when he was done harvesting hay later this week. At least I won't need it till Friday- I'm trailering to my trainer for Wednesday's ride.
