I've never even sat in an english saddle. Western all the way. :) Although I wouldn't mind trying it out, I'm sure its great. My horse was trained in dressage... w0t.

English is fun if you wanna jump and do all that stuff. But I prefer western, and whenever I wanna jump, I just do it bareback :)

I grew up riding western but always felt like an english rider trapped in a western saddle. :D

I plan on buying a western saddle to play around in but am in no hurry- am waiting to find a cool looking older/antique one, I think they are beautiful.

I'm the only english rider I know of in the area (I drive almost 90 minutes to a trainer), Western riders on trail rides here can be really nasty to you if you're an english rider, so I'd like a western saddle just to trail ride in. Riding a curly horse draws enough stares!!

I ride western to the core, love every thing about it.

Although I do ride english in shows and to practice for shows, and I was trained when I first started in english to develop my seat more. IMHO I believe all little kids (like 8 and under) should be started in an english saddle, it just really develops good habits that younger kids cant understand unless they have to do it. IE heels down, sit up straight, easy soft hands. But I most def love western all the way.

I'm Western and English. :)

And if you look at it, a lot of the basics are the same in both disciplines.
