Do any of you use smartpaks? I just got Regal's refill tonight. For the summer he's on Bug Check (fly control) and Excer-Lyte (electrolyte). How about your horses?

Is that really worth it? I've never known someone to use it.

Boarding at a private barn, I feel guilty asking them to spend time measuring out supplements. That's just me though. :o If I were feeding myself I wouldn't bother with having it premeasured, but with boarding it's much easier (and I know they are ACTUALLY giving him his supplements) and worth the money.

We're purchasing One AC for one of the geldings at the barn I work at. He doesn't sweat and with the heat and humidity being so bad this season, I'm afraid he's going to drop dead from overheating at the foxhunts this year.

I'd use supplements from SmartPak if I used more than one supplements on my horse. My former pony was as healthy as could be without supplements (good balanced diet with a significant amount of viatmins and minerals in the grain, lots of hay and grass, naturally healthy hooves, good grooming, etc.), so we didn't give him any. Surprisingly, most of the horses and ponies at my barn don't get any supplements because they really don't need them. A couple horses get special supplements, and a few get a color-enchancing supplement (like Black Magic or w/e in the summer), but that's usually it.
I thought SmartPak was a good idea, though, and I'd use it if I had the need to.
